Sample Clinic Topics

Here are some of the most requested and beneficial clinic formats we offer. All clinics are kept small (typically 4–8 riders/horses) for maximum individual attention.

  • Hunter/Jumper Show Prep Clinics Focused course work, related distances, ring strategy, and competition simulation to help you and your horse feel confident and polished in the show ring.
  • Groundwork & Horsemanship Fundamentals Building trust, respect, and clear communication on the ground. Ideal for all levels and especially beneficial for young or reactive horses.
  • Senior Horse Biomechanics and Care Specialized training on understanding the unique movement, joint health, and comfort needs of older horses. Learn targeted exercises, saddle fit considerations, and daily care routines to keep senior horses happy, sound, and active longer.
  • Equine Nutrition Basics Practical, hands-on guidance on feeding for optimal health, weight management, digestive wellness, and performance. Includes how to read feed labels, balance rations, and make smart adjustments based on your horse’s age, workload, and individual needs.
  • Bringing a Mature Horse Back into Work After Time Off, Injury, or Break Safe, progressive reconditioning programs tailored for adult and older horses. Focus on rebuilding muscle, restoring confidence, addressing common post-layoff issues, and creating a realistic timeline to return to full work without setbacks.
  • Owner-Trainer Development Empowering you with the knowledge and skills to confidently train and maintain your own horse between professional lessons.
  • Flatwork & Equitation Focus Improving balance, rhythm, connection, and effectiveness of aids for better communication and performance.
  • Mock Shows & Problem-Solving Clinics Simulated competition experiences combined with targeted sessions for specific challenges like spooking, loading, or behavioral issues.

FAQ

Do you travel to host clinics at other barns?

Absolutely! We travel throughout Utah and surrounding areas. Hosting a clinic at your facility is a fantastic way to bring quality training to your barn. Contact us to discuss dates, topics, and details.

What does the host provide versus what does Kristina provide?

Kristina provides the professional instruction, clinic planning, handouts, and all teaching materials. As the host, you typically provide the arena, basic setup (jumps/poles if needed), parking, and help promote the clinic to your boarders and local riders. We can discuss specifics based on your facility.

What are the minimum facility requirements to host a clinic?

We need a safe, level arena (indoor preferred, outdoor acceptable), space for 4–10 riders, and access to restroom facilities. Good footing and room for spectators are ideal. We’re happy to do a quick assessment of your arena during the planning process.

Is there a minimum number of riders required to host a clinic?

We recommend a minimum of 5–6 paying riders for most clinics to make it worthwhile for everyone. However, we can discuss smaller private group clinics or adjusted pricing for smaller groups.

Do you have your own liability insurance and are you licensed?

Yes. Kristina carries professional liability insurance specifically for equine instruction and clinics. She is a fully licensed and insured clinician in the state of Utah. Proof of insurance and a copy of the liability release form are available upon request.

Can we customize the clinic topic and schedule for our barn?

Absolutely! Many barns request custom topics (such as Senior Horse Care, English for Western riders, or Show Prep). We can adjust the length, focus, and schedule to best fit your boarders’ needs.
